Sinchronize Your Sex Clocks

Sometimes it seems that life just isn't fair.  Take for example the difference between a man's and a woman's sex drive.  Starting in his early teens a man's system blasts his body with a flood of hormones that will continue well into his early thirties.  But then slowly,. over time, the body's production of these chemicals drops off at a rate of about 10% every ten years starting at around age 20.  Still, for a good twenty years or more, sex  will be the number one thing on his mind 24/7.

In contrast, a woman's sex drive builds slowly over time.  Then, toward the end of her thirties, the alarm on her biological clock starts sounding and doesn't stop until she hits menopause.  In some kind of cruel irony, while her elevator is on the way up, his is on the way down, and sometime around their mid-forties they pass each other never to meet again until her libido starts it's inevitable slow decline.

Fortunately, nature supplies us with a wonderful pharmacy of libido enhancing plants, one of which is indigenous to Peru in South America.  Used in Peru for thousands of years as a food as well as for its libido boosting, health enhancing properties and high nutritional value, Maca is a cruciferous vegetable that can be traced back to the Incan empire, where warriors used it before entering into battle.  However, after battle, they were no longer allowed to consume maca in order to protect the women from their powerful libidos.

Still today it is used to ignite the sex drive and put a spark in the sex life.  One of the best super-foods it is increasingly becoming known around the world for promoting sexual health, libido and wellbeing.  Containing a high level of minerals, enzymes and all the essential amino acids which are essential for libido Maca is great for the sex life.  Maca balances the body, bringing health, vitality and sexuality.

The Peruvian government has invested a lot in scientific research to show the incredible libido enhancing properties of this plant.  A study Published in the Asian Journal of Andrology has shown that Maca increases libido and dramatically improves the sex drive.  Over a period of 3 months, Scientist Gustavo Gonzales of the Peruvian Cayateno Heredia University gave Maca to 9 volunteers.  He concluded that this libido enhancing herb raises sex drive by 180 to 200%, and doubled sperm production.  After 2 weeks of use, Maca powerfully increased "desire for sex", says Gonzales.  The same study also pointed out that Maca lowers blood pressure and that there are no negative side effects.

Other benefits of this potent libido herb include:

  • A massive increase in sexual activity.

  • Reduces menopausal symptoms.

  • Regulates women's hormonal irregularities: menstruation, eases period pains, alleviates menopausal symptoms.

  • Elevates the mood, eases depression, and improves mental ability and concentration.

  • Improves stamina, vitality and endurance.

  • Increases energy levels.

  • Decreases impotency and erectile dysfunctions.

  • Reduces male menopausal symptoms.

  • Increases the production of sperm cells.

  • Decreases stress.

  • The supplement industry uses both the dry roots and maca flour for different types of processing and concentrated extracts. A quick internet query will show dozens of different extracts available, each touting some enhanced efficaciousness for a traditional use or health claim. More recently, maca has been gelatinized using an extrusion process with the application of slight heat and pressure. Gelatinized maca is many fold stronger than powdered root, and is employed for mainly for therapeutic, medicinal and supplement purposes. It can also be used like maca flour. There is also freeze-dried maca juice, which is a juice squeezed from the macerated fresh root, and subsequently freeze-dried.

Maca is widely available as a stand-alone supplement or in combination with other natural ingredients.  The quality and potency of brands available in discount and drug stores varies widely and it's difficult to know whether the product you're buying will live up to your expectations.  Although slightly more expensive, those brands available in better nutrition stores such as GNC, Vitamin World, etc. or natural grocery stores such as Whole Foods usually have higher quality ingredients with greater potency.
